Supporting English Language Learners at Your Library: Panel Discussion Posted by meaghan on Oct 8, 2026 in Company News , For Libraries

Update: the panel discussion was a blast. The panel shared tons of great tips you definitely don’t want to miss. Watch the recording below.

Libraries are on the front lines of supporting immigrants and refugees in their communities. That means building literacy of all kinds: digital, financial, and of course English.

Easier said than done when you’re up against tight budget, limited resources, and language barriers.

So we asked 100 public librarians about their biggest struggle supporting English Language Learners in their communities.

Most answers fell into three categories:

  • 52% struggle with outreach & marketing across language barriers

  • 17% lack of materials or don’t know which materials to provide

  • 13% don’t have enough staff or volunteers to launch/scale programs

That’s a lot to overcome! So we found three librarians running impressive ELL programs to share how they’ve done it.

Join us October 16th at 1pm for a live panel discussion about how to support ELLs at your library. Come get advance. Ask questions. And be well on your way to support the ELLs in your community.
