Which option is right for me: tutoring or Capstone?

The tutoring package is best if you are seeking flexible, short-term support or conversation practice without a formal curriculum or progress reporting.
The Capstone Course is ideal if you want a comprehensive, goal-oriented program with assignments, progress monitoring, and a certificate upon completion.
Who is my tutor? Can I switch tutors?

A tutor will be assigned to you upon purchase. You will work with one dedicated tutor for all of your sessions.
All of our tutors are expert language instructors who have advanced degrees in their language and/or education and 8+ years of teaching experience.

Where do I meet with my tutor?

Sessions take place in Microsoft Teams. You may join via a browser, so you will not need to download anything to participate.
How do I schedule my sessions?

Your tutor will reach out to you to schedule your first session via email. You will schedule your next session with your tutor at the end of each class.
Can I reschedule or cancel sessions?

Rescheduling: You or your tutor may reschedule a session at least 24 hours before the scheduled time. No more than two student-initiated reschedules are permitted. A third reschedule will be treated as a cancellation, and one session will be deducted from the student’s total. A new session must then be scheduled.
Cancellation and No-show:
- If you provide at least 24 hours’ notice, the session will not be deducted from your remaining session count. A “no show” or cancellation with less than 24 hours' notice will result in the deduction from your session count.
- Exceptions may be given for medical emergencies or other extreme personal circumstances, but documentation may be required.
Do unused sessions or online access expire, or can I extend the program?

All 6 sessions for the “Tutoring Package,” must be consumed within 2 months of your first session. All 16 sessions for the “48-hour Capstone” must be consumed within 4 months of your first session. The same applies to online access.
Is Transparent Language Online access included?

A Transparent Language Online account is included at no extra cost for the duration of your tutoring package or course.
Transparent Language Online plays a crucial part of your tutoring package. Your tutor will assign you lessons to complete prior to tutoring sessions. That way you can learn new vocabualry or practice grammar patterns before meeting with your tutor, who will help you practice applying what you've learned.
Is the Capstone Course completion certificate accredited?

The certificate of completion acknowledges that you have successfully completed the course requirements, including the instructional sessions and assigned coursework. It is not an accredited or externally recognized certification.
Can I upgrade from tutoring to Capstone later?

A Capstone course is available as a separate, optional add-on course to any Tutoring Package. After you complete your tutoring sessions, you may transition directly into a purchased Capstone course.
Do you offer group or institutional discounts?

Group or institutional discounts may be possible. Please reach out to us at info@transparent.com with the details of your situation and which tutoring product(s) you are interested in so we can discuss options.
What if I am not satisfied with my tutoring experience?

In the unlikely scenario you are unsatisfied with your tutoring experience, you may request a refund.
Transparent Connect Tutoring packages and Capstone courses may be refunded 100% of the fee within 5 calendar days after the first live class. A 50% refund of the fee will be given within 5 calendar days after the second live class. After the third live class, there is no refund.
