Transparent Language's Run Team participates in the Boston "Run to Home Base"

A 9k race to honor our nation's heroic veterans

Boston, M.A., May 23, 2010 — The newly-founded Transparent Language Run Team achieved victory on many fronts today - running with 3,000+ other participants in a fundraising benefit for military veterans and their families. The Run to Home Base event is a unique 9 kilometer race through scenic Boston which concludes by crossing home plate at historic Fenway Park. Transparent Language Inc. employees Kristen Bresse and Amanda Loreth participated in the challenge, and were among thousands of civilian and military participants from all walks of life. The Transparent Language Run Team finished the 5.6 mile race in less than an hour, stood out in their brilliant yellow shirts, and raised over $2,100 for the cause.

Funds raised by the runners, donors, and corporate sponsors support the efforts to care for, reintegrate, and help American troops (and their families) returning from Afghanistan and Iraq. The Run to Home base event was founded by the Boston Red Sox baseball team, in partnership with Massachusetts General Hospital. This outreach serves military personnel with combat stress disorders and/or traumatic brain injuries, and also assists community health care providers with training in advanced diagnostic tools and treatments.

"Transparent Language supports the mission of our servicemen every day by providing language learning tools" said Kristen Bresse, Marketing Associate and race participant. "Participating in the Run To Home Base and supporting our returning troops wasn't even a question, it was just the right thing to do." Amanda Loreth, QA Lead at Transparent Language, added "Thank you, to our sponsors Transparent Language, Focus on Fitness, TJ's Deli and Catering, Turco Plumbing & Heating, and to all our family/friends who gave generously to help our troops."

Bresse and Loreth also described a sense of camaraderie, honor, and dedication among all who participated in the event. "Many runners were active military or vets who wore face paint, carried flags on the course, sang, chanted, and cheered. Some were in full gear/boots for the whole thing, and even ran with their heavy backpacks." The Transparent Language Run Team kept pace with the US Navy runners (yellow shirt team) for 2 miles, and report a heart-felt dedication among those who ran, sponsored, and produced the event. The Transparent Language Run Team was privileged to be a part of the Run to Home Base event and hopes that all our troops return safe.
