Hi Richard, yes that's the one. It was very clean, esp the bathrooms. The kitchen was reasonably basic, though also clean. They have a good wifi system also. And they were very friendly. I was very satisfied with it, and if/when I return to Stockholm would happily stay there again in preference to other hostels I stayed in. There's more info about my trip to Stockholm on my blog if you're interested...

James >> Was this the hostel at Skanstull?

http://www.skanstullsvandrarhem.se

I'm looking for a hostel in that area but it's hard to know if they are good or not. It's not like one want to end up in a hostel used as a homless shelter or something like that.

Tack!
Well... We're not just going for summer! I'm moving to Sweden!

I'll be in school there for two years. And we've found an apartment, but we need to find temporary accomidations for about a month! I was thinking to stay in hostels while getting the lay of the land. So that helps to consider lockers. My wife and I will be basically living out of our suitcases for a month.

Kjohansson,
Trust me, I totally understand. My father is like that too. :)

James,
thanks for the tips! I know they will come in handy. You evidently had more luck than me, every time I tried the one at Fridhemsplan it was fully booked!

Stu,
most of the hostels I stayed at had a locked luggage room. I know that some places have airport-style luggage lockers, too. Honestly, I have never had a problem with safety/security when it comes to my personal items. If you are not sure if the place you're thinking to book has what you need, the best would be to call ahead and ask. And you know, now you will just HAVE TO tell us all about your summer when you get back home. Photos and all.

Perfectly timed article! How did you know we were planning on just this?

A question about safety/security? Where do you lock up your belongings? Is there a locker you can leave your luggage locked in, or do you need to take you backpack with you?
