The song reminds me of some track by another composer that I really enjoyed hearing , can't remember which one is it :\ does anyone happens to know what track I am referring to?

Hi Anna!

Let me just quote you twice:

"I may not like the song, but I’ll vote for it anyway. Oh, the things we do for the glory of Sweden…"

And:

"predict it will get high votes from the UK (lots of Lithuanian immigrants over there), Ireland (lots of Lithuanian immigrants over there) and a few former Soviet republics (bloc voting at its finest)."

See what I mean? aren't we all human? ;)

(I'm also slightly confused: what's difficult about the name "Bilan"??)

Hi Kat!
As far as I and most of my Swedish friends are concerned, Sweden finished third - after all Arash is Swedish too. ;)

The British song was OK, but what bothered me about it was the blatant conflict of interest that Anglopole so aptly described in her comment - how can a song's composer be also involved in the judging process?
The song was there because the UK qualified automatically to the final and because it had a "name" attached to it.

If it had to sail just on its own merit (like the Norwegian entry) it would have flopped as usual.

And when did Sir Andrew Lloyd Weber's career fall so low that he had to get involved in the Eurovision song contest? Or is Jade his new Sarah Brightman type? ;)

Well...I certainly do not agree with

'The UK - a song composed by Sir Andrew Lloyd Weber. Must have been one of his rejects then.'

It was a very good song, sung well, perhaps a bit dodgy in places but still good. I think you may just be annoyed that it was going to do better than sweden...and im sure the new voting annoyed you as it meant you were not going to get 12 points from all the countries round you.

Nae luck!
