<description>Natalia: In my post I say (and very correctly so, because I did do the research before blogging) that the first photo shoot of Vogue was done in 1982 in Russia, however, a little later in my post I write that this year (being 2008) is the tenth year that Russia's had it's own edition of Vogue.

		<description>Alec L,
That is quite curious to me, why is the iPhone illegal? Surely NOT just because it is ridiculously expensive. But, I must remind myself, as my wife is want to do, "It is Ruuuuuusia!"

<description>You say Vogue is a perfect пример of what's important to Russians right now, and I agree. I would say, however, that this mentality is heavier on the роскошь than the art. Even though the "New Russians" movement is technically over, the fetish for status symbols and flaunted wealth certainly isn't. A good indicator is the popularity of the ridiculously expensive and illegal iPhone. Or the ubiquitous Hummer limos here in Petersburg.

		<description>Josefina,
Yet another fine post in your "second" language. Let me offer this about Vogue. It is one of many places where Men worship Women and their innate beauty, and Women worship the beautiful things, (shoes, clothing, etc.) we men make for them.
Grammar lesson: "artistical" is not a normal proper construction in English, except in a sarcastic or intentionally humorous context. Artistic Duo would be a better construction for that thought.
Still, keep up the good work!!

<description>Yeah Josefina, what can I say! I miss 'normal' SU's 80s. Back then "artists" were doing serious jail time for "art" like that, Yes thats where they belong.</description>
