"The reason Brazil is spelled with a 'Z' is because that's how it was spelled when the country was founded. Have a read of the constitution from 1824: http://www.planalto.gov.br/ccivil_03/Constituicao/Constitui%C3%A7ao24.htm All the best, Chris"
