Also in slang, you may often hear people say “demorou!” That means it’s so obvious it’s happened already or should have happened long ago.

“Tell me about it” and “You bet” are English expressions that mean the same as “pode crer”. Muito legal comparar gírias. We learn English and ‘regional’ Portuguese as well. Recently a carioca girl told me people don´t use the verb “chavear” (lock – door)in Rio.

I’d like to add that “pode crer” would also fit situations where you’d mean “That’s right!” and “You said it!”. But definitely the best general meaning for it would be “Right on!”
