I saw him in concert at the sports arena in san diego and was pleasantly entertained by this seasoned performer. I wsa shocked to hear that someone was upset that he sang in Spanish!? I realize that he is brazilian but if he had not sang in spanish, I would have never known of him. I am very happy that he did sing in spanish and my wife and I love his music very much. It has touched both our lives. I enjoy listening to him sing in portuguese as well.
So Dolores, get over it. A famous artist like that should be shared by the world. I figure he has had more success with spanish record sales then with portuguese sales.

[...] Roberto Carlos is a musical icon in Latin America, something of a Brazilian Barry Manilow. But he’s not just popular in Brazil; he sings in Spanish and Portuguese, so he’s popular the world over. He recently celebrated the fifty year anniversary of his career in New York, where he played two shows at Radio City Music Hall. Today, we’re going to take a look at a side by side translation of his song “Como vai você.” [...]
