Nagsasalita ka ba ng Ingles? Do you speak English?
 
May nagsasalita ba rito ng Ingles? Does anyone here speak English?
 
Nagsasalita ako ng kaunti lang Tagalog. I only speak a little Tagalog.
 
Ano ang pangalan mo? What is your name?
 
Ako ay si Maria. My name is Maria.
 
Kumusta ka na? How are you?
 
Mabuti naman, salamat po. I'm fine, thank you.
 
Ikinalulugod kong makilala ka. I am very glad to meet you.
 
Hindi ko maintindihan. I don't understand.
 
Ano ang sinabi mo? What did you say?
 
Puwede bang mas bagalan mo ang pagsasalita? Can you speak more slowly?
 
Lubos kong naiintindihan. I understand perfectly.

Tagalog Dialog
 
Mrs. Johnson: Magandang umaga.Nagsasalita ka ba ng Ingles?
Good morning. Do you speak English?
Store Clerk: Ipagpaumanhin n'yo,
I'm sorry,
hindi po ako nagsasalita ng Ingles.
I don't speak English.
Mrs. Johnson: Sa kasamaang palad,
Unfortunately,
kaunti lalamg and alam kong Tagalog.
