Thanks so much for your comment Linda. Unfortunately, I, like many Americans, had no idea who Carole was until I studied in Paris during college. One of my best French friends introduced me to Fredericks/Goldman/Jones and, like many French people, was amazed by Carole's voice and talent. And he was like "She's American! Haven't you heard of her????". And I was like "No, but she's awesome!"

Hello Chandra,
Thank you so much for writing this article about Carole! I just stumbled onto it today.
Carole was my best friend for 30 years, and you're right-she was close to unknown in her motherland. It always frustrated me when she was here with us, because she had s-o-o-o-o much talent and really deserved so much more recognition than she got. I was so thrilled for her when things went so well for her in France! Kudos to Jean Jacques Goldman for recognizing her specialness (in so many ways) and taking her under his wing to help propel her career to where she deserved! Daily, it breaks my heart that this special angel was taken away from us so early.
