Even if you may use it in your local lingo, if a Chinese person learns qu4shi4 to colloquially mean 'pass on'='die', very-very few English speakers would understand him/her correctly. It is usually a transitive verb (transmit information, tell knowledge, transfer possession of, refer to sb for decision, etc), the intransitive meaning of 'move forward' is very different even metaphorically.
