For my second video post, join me on a stroll around 后海 lake to see what Beijing folks like to do outside in the summer time.  With a long, cold winter, it is important to get outside and enjoy the warm weather while it lasts!  As usual, I’ve included the vocabulary used in the video below to aid your studies.  Enjoy!

在北京夏天已经来了 – zài běi jīng xià tiān y ǐjīng lái le – In Beijing, summer has already arrived.

天气越来越热 – tiān qì yuè lái yuè rè – The weather is getting hotter and hotter.

天空 – tiān kōng – the sky

放风筝 – fàng fēng zheng – fly a kite

玩毽子 -wán jiàn zi – play Chinese hackey-sack

小狗 – xiǎo gǒu – small dog

玩牌戏 – wán pái xì – play cards

玩跳棋 – wán tiào qí – play checkers

逛街   – guàng jiē  – stroll the streets

乘坐小船 – chéng zuò xiǎo chuán – ride a small boat

日落 – rì luò – sunset

当地公园 – dāng dì gōng yuán – local park

练习太极拳 – liàn xí tài jí quán – practice tai chi

歌舞 – gē wǔ – sing and dance (this is the short version of 唱歌和跳舞 – chàng gē hé tiào wǔ, and is the easier and more common expression used in spoken Chinese)
